Jamaica-based Supreme Ventures Ltd (SVL) has ended a near 10-year association with Intralot by switching to the retail sports betting platform from Altenar.
The leading gaming and entertainment company in Jamaica has, according to Co-CEO Xesus Johnston, concluded that the platform from Altenar offers “more virtual games, faster processing times for online bets, better odds and more leagues”.
As of 1 December 2019, SVL’s JustBet network is running off software from Altenar. First launched on the Intralot platform in 2010, it is now offered in almost 80 shops island-wide.
“Intralot has been our sports betting platform provider for nine years,” explained Johnston. “We launched JustBet on the Intralot platform in 2010 and we are grateful for the relationship we established with them and the partnership we have maintained over the years.
“However, we have made the switch to Altenar because of the wide range of features that the platform offers including more virtual games, faster processing times for online bets, better odds and more leagues.
“As a result, JustBet now has access to the most virtual games in the Caribbean. This is in line with our position as the standard bearer for gaming in the Caribbean.”
The SVL business model dictates that companies can apply to become a retailer of the JustBet platform, which explains the quick spread of shops (currently 78) housing the software outside of the seven retail centres owned and operated by SVL.
Johnston added: “The Supreme Ventures Group views the partnership with Altenar as part of the group’s medium to long term strategy to continuously innovate through upgrades and the provision of new gaming options to enhance the gaming experience for our gamers.
“The Sports Betting segment of the gaming market is poised for further growth and so with Altenar, we will be placed in a unique position to capitalize on this growing market, not just in Jamaica but across the region at an international standard.”
