Starcasino had already established a successful sportsbook presence in Belgium with Altenar. However, its move into the newly-regulated Dutch market introduced an entirely new set of challenges, with new licence requirements, a highly competitive online sector, and an audience with specific expectations for products and experiences. Altenar stepped in not simply as a software provider, but as a market-entry partner who could interpret the Dutch regulatory environment while preserving Starcasino’s brand identity.

The extended partnership saw Altenar’s full sportsbook stack deployed for Starcasino in the Netherlands, building on its retail and online work in Belgium since 2022. With Dutch certification already secured in 2022, Altenar was able to deliver the technical, compliance and operational guidance needed for launch. On the player-facing side, the platform was configured to reflect local betting behaviours, offering both major international leagues alongside domestic competitions, with promotional tools tailored to a Dutch market accustomed to high standards of user experience.

In effect, the collaboration led to a single, unified sportsbook experience across online and retail platforms, supported by a flexible front end, a scalable back end, and full compliance with Dutch regulations on security and fair play. 

The result is that Starcasino’s Dutch launch was not just a new territory for an existing operator, but a meaningful brand evolution. Starcasino successfully entered the Dutch market with a sportsbook tailored for both new and experienced bettors.
