Altenar now employs more than 500 members of staff after years of sustained growth but some have been here from the very beginning.
As a global sportsbook supplier, the team is made up of many different nationalities, backgrounds and languages, with various departments contributing towards the overall success of the company.
In the latest of a series of interviews with our workforce, we find out more about Marketing Director Angelina Silina.
How long have you been a member of the Altenar team and what made you want to join the company?
I have been working for Altenar since its foundation. I’m very proud that I was the person who came up with the name of the company.
What are your main roles and responsibilities here at Altenar?
My main role is to run and oversee the various departments that promote the Altenar brand through various channels both online and offline. Each of these departments have a vast array of specialists in their field which makes it a great position for me to be in.
What do you think makes you good at your job/what you do?
I do not compete with my team members, I am always happy when someone is able to complete a task better than me. I have not been a specialist in many specific areas of marketing so I must trust the expertise of my team. I know how to create in my department an atmosphere of freedom which helps work flow without having to ‘babysit’ my team.
This approach allows me to look at things more objectively, and have time to ensure I am ahead of latest trends and advancements in this field.
How does your department help the company reach its overall targets and goals?
Thanks to my department, we managed to build the image of Altenar as a serious company and in turn built a name that is respected in the gaming industry amongst sportsbook suppliers.
What are the key skills you need to be a success in your team/department?
To work in my team, you must be a good specialist who is able to take responsibility for your decisions, be able to be brave for the sake of results and also offer non-standard solutions.
How do you expect your role in this industry to change and develop in the future?
Communication channels will be different in the future, but my role will not change significantly. People like me will run people who, in turn, control robots, set tasks for them, but choose the strategy themselves.
Tell us about your career prior to joining Altenar?
I have always worked in advertising, first on the client's side, then in the advertising agencies.
My role changed depending on the needs of the companies, but most of all I liked working as a Senior Copywriter who created the initial ideas when promoting different products (ATL/BTL).
What’s the one thing you’d love to change about your role/industry?
Ideally, I would like to do more creative work and less processes.
What did you want to do as a job/career when you were a child?
When I was a kid, I didn't know what I wanted to do.
Away from work do you have any hidden talents?
I have a huge passion for painting and decoration, I graduated from art school and have always been interested in art. I’d like to think I could identify the professionals in this field right away.
What's your biggest achievement away from your work career?
I hope my biggest achievement is yet to come. I hope I can look back on my life in years to come and when I judge my success be proud of the various things I have and will accomplish.
