After nearly four years here at Altenar, our Director of Product - Sportsbook & Data Dinos Doxiadis has provided some fantastic insight into his role and his motivation to succeed in the iGaming industry.
In another addition to our ‘Getting To Know You’ series of interviews, Dinos took the time to answer some important questions as we found out more about another valuable member of the Altenar team.
How long have you been a member of the Altenar team and what made you want to join the company?
It's been almost four years now, I joined in February 2021. Even though my background is in technology, I was involved in a non-technological project in 2021 that froze during the pandemic.
I also had friends at Altenar and joined the company out of curiosity about the industry which I knew very well... from the other side.
What are your main roles and responsibilities here at Altenar?
When I joined Altenar there really wasn't any product department and I was directly involved in building a reporting system and played a part with every major product initiative we had. Soon after we started building the product department.
Today we have a fully functional product team managing sportsbook, data, terminals and the mobile app. My responsibility is to define the product roadmap and vision and communicate it to our very talented technical teams.
What do you think makes you good at your job/what you do?
The fact that I have a strong technical background helps, but to be honest I think it's more the fact that I am extremely competitive by nature. I want to have the best product team and build the best products. It drives me crazy when I see any of our competitors doing a better job than us.
What are the key skills you need to be a success in your team/department?
I have a team with strong technical backgrounds which I understand is not the norm.
To be successful in my team you have to understand the technical aspects to a high level, be a great communicator, can multitask with many different projects simultaneously and have to be focused and motivated. Away from work do you have any hidden talents?
I have a strange one, I am a top bridge player with multiple national and international titles.
