Altenar has appointed Jacob Portelli as Sales Manager, strengthening the sportsbook provider’s commercial team as it continues to target growth in Asian and African markets.
Portelli brings five years of iGaming experience, most recently serving as Business Development Manager at Celestar Malta. He has previously held business development and customer success roles at OKTO, WizPro Consulting Ltd and GA Tech, providing payment solutions to operators, aggregators and platforms across Southeast Asia, Africa, LatAm and Europe.
In his new role, Portelli will focus on developing Altenar’s presence across Asia and Africa, building long-term partnerships and delivering tailored solutions that add measurable value to operators in these high-growth areas.
Altenar has enjoyed significant success in Africa over the past 12 months, acquiring its South African licence in December 2024 before appointing Brendon Jeacocks as Regional Director for the market in July. Portelli’s appointment reflects Altenar’s commitment to further investing in experienced professionals who understand the commercial demands of modern sports betting in emerging markets.
