Altenar’s love for sport has been evident with a range of activities helping employees stay fit and active in recent months - with more still to come!
As a leading sportsbook provider, Altenar is known for products linked to sport but the passion for competition and team spirit extends beyond office life.
Employees across Altenar’s offices around the world now have more opportunities than ever before to come together and take part in sporting events - here are a few examples of recent and planned activities:
Marathon running
The most active employees have laced up their running shoes and pounded the streets to complete some epic runs at organised marathon races in a variety of locations. Participation in the marathons has been supported by the company and Altenar is a proud sponsor of the Isle of Man Marathon and Half-Marathon, which this year had a record number of entries. Sponsorship of the Gran Fondo cycling event for the first time in 2025 also reaffirmed Altenar’s commitment to sport on the island.
Padel
The racquet sport of padel has enjoyed a huge increase in popularity, with an estimated 30 million players worldwide. Some of Altenar’s Malta-based employees are contributing to the growth of the sport and are competing in a new season of the Enteractive iGaming Padel League, with matches taking place every Monday night at IK Padel Village in Pembroke.
Basketball
Employees from across Altenar’s offices in Greece will be united when they come together for a one-day basketball tournament. Plans are being drafted for staff from Thessaloniki and Ioannina to head to Athens where a competition will be held to determine who is the hottest at shooting hoops.
Table tennis
For those who prefer a smaller sporting stage, plans are in place for a table tennis tournament across a number of Altenar’s offices in November. Live streaming and a leaderboard will help enhance the competitive flavour of the day.
Esports
The growth of esports allows participants to enjoy a sporting occasion without the need to break into a sweat, and staff at our office in Uruguay recently put their gaming skills to the test with their first esports tournament.
Merchandise
Being proud to wear your team colours is an important part of any sporting event and Altenar is showing support for employees with merchandise to help add colour to the occasion and foster a feeling of unity.
Our in-house design team have produced a range of t-shirts featuring slogans - Run & Fly, Play & Fly, Game & Fly - designed to inspire participants to achieve their goals in whichever events they are competing in, while the same branding featured on medals for runners who completed the Isle of Man Marathon and Half-Marathon.
The sporting events are just some of the ways in which employees are encouraged to come together and interact with colleagues outside of the work environment, with non-sporting activities including board game and film nights.

We know many of our staff enjoy participating in different sports and as a company providing a sports-related product, we are keen to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, as well as fostering a sense of team spirit.
Taking part in sporting activities is a great way to bring staff together and get to know each other away from their day-to-day tasks, and we will continue to explore further opportunities to provide suitable events to allow them to do this.
