Altenar has strengthened its backing for sport in the local community by sponsoring the new Isle of Man Athletics Volunteer Award Scheme.
The initiative is designed to recognise and reward the contributions of the dedicated volunteers at club events across the Isle of Man. Whether it is marshalling, officiating, judging, organising events or providing general assistance, every event at which an individual volunteers will count towards earning rewards.
Volunteers can pick up a loyalty card from their local athletics club and start tracking their progress, with every event earning a stamp. Volunteers reaching milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 50 stamps can convert them into kit and merchandise, while each stamp will also earn one entry into an annual tombola.
The scheme continues Altenar’s support for athletics on the island, with the company already sponsoring the Isle of Man Marathon and Half-Marathon.
We are delighted to support the Isle of Man Athletics Association in their efforts to recognise the hard work and commitment given by volunteers, without whom many events simply couldn’t take place. Those who know Manx weather will know that this can often be especially challenging!
Our support will hopefully encourage more volunteers to come forward and support what is a great local community for running, walking and athletics. Giving back to the local community is something we take pride in and hope this will be a great success.
