Can you detail the positive steps Altenar has taken to expand its Malta office and how much the office will increase in size?
Expanding the business is a complex and dynamic process. Such a move requires significant time, resources, and energy—and the involvement of multiple teams.
Most importantly, it involves the need for additional staff and a heavier workload for HR. As a company, we believe in people—they define where we are today and where we’ll be in the coming years. They are our greatest asset, and it’s not just about bringing new people in, but also supporting those we already have. That means providing training and tools to help them succeed in their roles and challenge themselves personally and professionally.
Will the new office create new jobs at Altenar? If so, from a recruitment perspective, what will be your approach to filling those roles?
We’re constantly enhancing our hiring processes to attract and retain top talent. This includes promoting open roles, vetting candidates, onboarding, training, and developing competitive compensation and benefits packages. A well-structured hiring strategy results in a stronger pool of candidates who are both qualified and a good cultural fit.
Employer branding is more than just a buzzword—it plays a critical role in the hiring process. We strive to be recognized not only for the products we deliver but also for the quality and perceived value of our brand.
Are there any areas of recruitment we can draw attention to in particular?
Not every job has the same requirements. Different recruitment methods are needed depending on the role. For example, we wouldn’t use the same platforms or outreach to fill an administrative role versus a Director of Sales position. Selecting the right approach helps attract the best candidates.
We understand how time-consuming and critical recruitment is, and we’re fortunate to have HR teams across our offices working closely together to ensure our hiring practices are aligned and effective.
Can you please supply an approximate headcount as to how much you plan to expand the team with this new space?
With the new office, our capacity has at least doubled. We’ve added not only additional workspace, but also meeting rooms, break areas, and communal spaces to create a great working environment.
We also value employee flexibility—whether they choose to work from the office or remotely, we support both options within the necessary level of in-person interaction. It’s a great achievement for the company that our employees prefer coming into the office not because they have to, but because they enjoy the environment.
Will the new office allow you to better address the needs of your partners? How so?
Office space plays a vital role in collaboration, productivity, and employee well-being. Creating a space where employees can work, relax, and collaborate has a direct impact on morale and loyalty. This, in turn, improves how we serve our partners and reinforces a healthy, high-performing company culture.
In what ways will this new base contribute to Altenar’s sustained commitment to product innovation?
Innovation is a team effort—and people are at the heart of it. For a company to grow and thrive long-term, it must invest in sustainability by engaging and developing its workforce while attracting new talent.
Success in product innovation requires leadership, collaboration, and continuous learning. Once we hire the right people, we focus on training and developing them. Innovation is not a solo endeavor—it’s a company-wide mission that thrives on everyone working to deliver better solutions every day.
How is this office set to factor into Altenar’s worldwide roadmap for continued growth?
Altenar is committed to becoming a high-performing global business. Our focus on innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. By solving daily challenges, pursuing consistent development, and empowering highly engaged employees, we’re creating the technologies of tomorrow and setting a course for long-term success.
