Altenar’s status as a leading sportsbook provider in South America has been further reinforced with the opening of a new office in Uruguay.
The new hub, located at Costa Rica Street 1667 in Carrasco, Montevideo, will serve as the base for approximately 15 team members and will strengthen the company’s support for iGaming operators across the LatAm region.
Altenar has been delivering betting solutions in South America for several years, during what has become an exciting period for the industry — as multiple countries across the region move toward legalizing and regulating sports betting.
Opening an office in Uruguay marks the next step in enhancing Altenar’s offering to its customers. Regional Director Hugo Llanos expressed enthusiasm about the new location and its value for clients.
I’m very excited about it. I think it’s going to be a great solution for us — especially in terms of time zone alignment.
We have a high volume of activity and products aligned with this time zone — including American sports, Copa Libertadores, Copa América, and of course, major leagues throughout the region such as Brazil, Mexico, and others. We serve clients across Latin America, so it’s essential to reassure them of our commitment to their operations and our continued support in achieving their goals.

The plan is to hire local talent and also relocate team members from our existing offices — aiming for a healthy balance between fresh perspectives and experienced professionals.
That should also help us replicate the culture we’ve established at our other offices — because I believe the culture we’ve built at Altenar is one of our greatest strengths.
